कछु लेना न देना मगन रहना॥
पाँच तत्व का बना पींजरा।
जा में बोले मेरी मैना॥
तेरा साईं तेरे अंदर।
अब तो देख सखि खोल नयना॥
गहरी नदिया नाव पुरानी।
खेवटिया से मिले रहना॥
कहत ‘कबीर’ सुनो भाई साधो।
गुरु के चरण में लिपट रहना॥
Meaning / Bhavarth
यह भजन संत कबीर की वैराग्य और आत्म-ज्ञान से भरी रचना है, जिसमें वे संसार में रहते हुए भी संसार से निर्लिप्त (अनासक्त) रहने और सदा ईश्वर-भक्ति में मगन रहने का संदेश देते हैं।
“कछु लेना न देना मगन रहना” किसी से कुछ लेना-देना नहीं, यानी सांसारिक वस्तुओं, स्वार्थ और मोह-माया से निर्लिप्त रहकर सदा आनंद और भक्ति में मगन (लीन) रहो।
“पाँच तत्व का बना पींजरा, जा में बोले मेरी मैना” यह शरीर पाँच तत्वों (पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश) से बना एक पिंजरा है, जिसके भीतर आत्मा-रूपी मैना (चिड़िया) निवास करती और बोलती है। शरीर अस्थायी है, पर उसके भीतर बसी आत्मा शाश्वत है।
“तेरा साईं तेरे अंदर, अब तो देख सखि खोल नयना” तुम्हारा ईश्वर कहीं बाहर नहीं, तुम्हारे भीतर ही विराजमान है। हे सखी (जीव), अब अपनी आंखें (ज्ञान-चक्षु) खोलकर उसे अपने भीतर देखो।
“गहरी नदिया नाव पुरानी, खेवटिया से मिले रहना” यह संसार एक गहरी नदी के समान है, और यह जीवन-रूपी नाव पुरानी व कमजोर है। ऐसे में खेवटिया (नाविक यानी सद्गुरु या ईश्वर) से जुड़े रहना ही पार उतरने का एकमात्र उपाय है। “कहत 'कबीर' सुनो भाई साधो, गुरु के चरण में लिपट रहना” कबीर कहते हैं — हे साधुजनो, सुनो! भवसागर पार करने के लिए सदा गुरु की शरण में रहो, उनके चरणों से जुड़े रहो, यही सच्ची मुक्ति का मार्ग है।
सार रूप में: यह भजन सांसारिक मोह-माया से अनासक्ति, अपने भीतर बसे ईश्वर को पहचानने और सद्गुरु की शरण में रहकर जीवन-रूपी भवसागर को पार करने का संदेश देता है।
This bhajan by Sant Kabir is a call to detachment and inner awakening — to live in the world without being bound by it, and to remain ever absorbed in devotion to the Divine.
“Take nothing, give nothing, remain absorbed in bliss” Stay free from worldly attachment, greed, and self-interest; remain always immersed in joy and devotion.
“The body is a cage of five elements, within it sings the myna” The human body, made of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, sky), is temporary — like a cage. Within it lives the eternal soul, like a songbird.
“Your Lord dwells within you; open your eyes and see” God is not somewhere far away — He resides within you. Open your inner eye of wisdom and recognize this truth.
“The river is deep, the boat is old, stay with the Boatman” Worldly life is like a deep river, and this human life (the boat) is fragile and short-lived. Staying connected to the true Guide (the Guru or God) is the only way to cross safely.
“Stay clinging to the Guru's feet” Kabir advises all seekers to remain devoted and surrendered to the Guru, for that surrender alone leads to true liberation.
In essence: This bhajan conveys the message of detachment from worldly illusion, recognizing the Divine within oneself, and crossing the ocean of life safely by remaining surrendered to a true Guru.
